Stuck in Vashj'ir

Vashj'ir_logo
I took a ship from Stormwind Harbor over a week ago together with many other adventurers that had been called by the Earthen Ring to help them in Vashj'ir.
Our ship was attacked by a gigantic octopus and dragged under water. Luckily some of us were rescued by the Earthen Ring shamans. Blessed with Sea feet for under water movement we have been battling the Naga since then.
We have now arrived at the ruined underwater city of Vashj'ir. We have had a chance to learn some Naga history, when the Naga overtook the underwater city from the Sea Vrykul.

I do not know when I will be able to go home again, hopefully soon as I feel part fish these days. We have tamed seahorses to use as mounts. They are really useful and well worth the time to tame. I couldn't do the work needed without mine.

Someone who is happy with the fact that I am stuck here is my Banker. As I have scurried the seas I have mined the Obsidian veins that I have found as well as collected all the herbs that I have seen. Evidentially all of these are fetching a very nice price on the Auction Houses and my Banker (a Death Knight, remember) sent me a message that I shouldn't be in any rush from this place. Easy for her to say when she's hanging around in the Dwarven District of Stormwind. But honestly, I hope to get a nice cut of the profits when I return to the surface and I do take some extra mining trips between the missions against the Naga.

Gatherers dream…

I went on a gathering run last earlier today, my first in a while as I have been busy with other things lately. First thing that I notice is that my Find Herbs spell is feeling quite different from before, so I try with my Find Minerals spell. Imagine my surprise when I notice that they both work at the same time now. Also, as I am a gatherer, I later tried my Find Fish spell and it worked together with the other two. So no I am able to track all three types of things that I used to have to switch between manually. Dreams do come true.

Gold guide for inexperienced adventurers

gold_wolves_elwynn The biggest thing that nags me while walking the streets of Stormwind or Ironforge is the amount of beggars present. I do not understand how this can be as it is not that hard to make a decent living in any part of Azeroth.
So, I do hope the next few tips will help some people in the art of earning gold themselves.
First off, even though you are an inexperienced adventurer it is easy to find opportunities where you can earn some money.

One of the more popular professions in Azeroth seems to be cooking. I find this quite natural as most people tend to eat. The easier cooking recipes require meat from bears and wolves and there are plenty of both in Elwynn Forest and even outside of Ironforge. You might want to start with looking in the Auction House to see what is selling for most money before you start. After that, all you need to do is to run out into the forest and locate the desired animals and start your hunting spree. When you have some stacks of meat in your bags, return to the Auction House and put them out for sale. Just be careful not to undercut the existing auctions as low prices are not that good for you or anyone else that is selling the same wares.

And as you already are at the Auction House, put everything you don't need there as well. Look at the lists and see what items are most probably needed by other people (usually you can sell the items that are not needed by others to a vendor in the city, these items are usually gray)
One other recommendation for inexperienced adventurers is to pick up two of the three gathering professions. These are mining, herbalism and skinning. I can almost guarantee that you will be making money in no time by selling the goods acquired with these professions and you can always switch to an other profession later when you want to create things.

A mining trainer called Gelman Stonehand can be found in the Dwarven district of Stormwind and Geofram Bouldertoe in one of the houses north of the great forge of Ironforge.
Herbalist trainer Tannysa can be found in the Mage quarters of Stormwind and Reyna Stonebranch resides south of the great Forge in IronForge.

If you spend an hour on hunting for meat and gathering ore, herbs or skin on one day. You will find some nice money in your mailbox on the next day.

About me continued…

It has been a while since I wrote about how I got to be me. So I thought I would cover some parts of it today.

After I left Teldrassil, I spent some time roaming the lands by xroadsDancing myself until I got to know a little group of people and adventurers that called themselves ‘Pious Brothers’.

I joined them first time in Zul’Farrak. After a while I became a trusted member and joined them wherever they went. Once or twice we raided the Horde at their Crossroads in the Barrens. It was enjoyable. During that time I had drifted into the role of healer, a bit of a suicidal healer as I couldn’t say no to opportunities. I remember once when a friend of mine Happy asked me to come to Andorhal in the Western Plaguelands while he and another tank killed Araj the Summoner. It took some tries as I was not experienced enough, nor did I have the power in my spells that we would have needed. But, when there was no other brdDance healer available. I went to where I was called and did my job.
Shortly after the Araj incident I was summoned to Blackrock Depths as a healer.

I remember that we managed to help Marshal Windsor and kill Bael’Gar.
I returned at a later point to the dungeons under the Blackrock spire, just to sit on the Emperors throne of power.

But now. During the time I spent roaming the world before I joined the nice people in the Pious Brothers, I picked up some useable trade skills. Herbalism I had picked up already before I miningleft Teldrassil and when I visited Ironforge for the first time I picked up Mining, These two professions became the best way to finance my traveling urge. Wherever I went, I ended up with ore and herbs in my bags that I then could sell to people that needed them or trade for better equipment in a city.
